PROFESSIONAL HISTORY:I began my cadetship with P&O Nedlloyd Containers in September 2001 after studying for A-levels in geography and chemistry at Bridgwater College.I was taken on as a permanent 4th Engineer for P&O Nedlloyd after achieving my Class 4 OOW certificate, along with an HND and NVQ L3 with full exemption to Chief engineer level in December 2004.After approximately 2 years I was promoted to 3rd engineer, shortly after this time P&O Nedlloyd was acquired by Maersk ship management.I went on to achieve a grade 1 in my Marine engineers class 2 motor and general EK's in July 2008.I stayed with Maersk as 3rd engineer until transferring to Norfolkline in July 2009, whom have since been acquired by DFDS Seaways.I was promoted to 2nd Engineer in January 2011, and was granted study leave in September 2012 when I achieved my Chief Engineers Certificate of competency at Grade 3.I was duly promoted to Chief Engineer in June of 2013, and was further promoted to Senior Chief engineer onboard the Delft Seaways in October 2013. I became the main link to shoreside regarding any technical matters onboard, and responsible for creating new practices and procedures and implementing any new legislation, and overseeing/planning projects such as annual drydockings.I then made the move into the Offshore industry with Prosafe, initially in the role of First Engineer from April 2015 until August 2016, when i was further promoted to Chief Engineer onboard the Safe Bristolia. I was made redundant in February 2018 and have since worked for Condor ferries as Chief Engineer onboard the High Speed Craft 'Condor Liberation'. And also their freight conventional ferries ‘Commodore Clipper’ and ‘Commodore Goodwill’.
