Going into my junior year of high school, I had no idea what I wanted to do as a career. However, during that school year, I took an online Intro to Programming course provided by Stanford. I took to it immediately, always trying to find ways to expand on the simple assignments that were provided along with the video lectures. I soon decided that I wanted to pursue computer science as a career. I didn't know where I wanted to go with that degree, but I did know I wanted to pursue computer science in general.Now, having completed a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science at Mississippi State University, I am working on my Masters Degree in CS at Georgia Tech. I have enjoyed and excelled in nearly every CS class I have taken, which leaves me with an interesting dilemma. I was hoping my experience in college would guide me towards a more specific are of interest in the vast field of computer science. This did not happen, leaving back where I started going into undergrad. I choose to view this as a good thing, as I believe I will be able to enjoy a wide variety of possible career paths.Wherever I end up, I will bring problem solving and leadership skills, backed by a strong work ethic and a distaste for doing sloppy work. I take pride in the quality of my work, from solid overall design all the way down to neat, well-commented code. As I gain more experience, I hope to become a valuable asset to any future employers and co-workers.
