Thirty-two years of municipal public safety experience, including 15 as fire chief for the City of West Allis, have provided me with a diverse set of skills and experience. I’ve worked with business and municipal leaders to get projects done on time and within strict budgetary limitations. My skills include problem-solving, team-building, short- and long-range planning and project evaluation. I’ve provided managerial leadership through integrity, reliability and dependability.Professionally, I am a member of the Institute of Fire Engineers. I’ve served as president of the Milwaukee County Association of Fire Chiefs, and as a member of the Wisconsin Fire Chiefs’ Education Association’s curriculum committee. I currently serve as a member of the Wisconsin Association of Fire Chiefs’ fire accreditation committee. I was a member of Milwaukee Area Technical College’s Fire and EMS advisory committee and was a Milwaukee County Executive’s appointee on the Milwaukee County EMS Council, where I worked as the operations committee chair. I’m currently vice chair of the Engineer Section of the Wisconsin Joint Examining Board of Architects, Landscape Architects, Professional Engineers, Designers and Land Surveyors, a position appointed by the Governor of Wisconsin. I also currently serve on the West Allis Rotary’s Board of Directors as chair of the International Services committee.
