Research Topic: Characterized novel mutations in polyphenol oxidase genes in bread wheat (Triticum aestivum) to improve end-use quality. Cloned multiple PPO genes in an Australian wheat line, created molecular markers, and integrated novel genes into elite wheat lines bred for the Pacific Northwest region of the U.S. This resulted improved quality germplasm for the wheat breeding program.
