Investigated how cells (primary human fibroblasts) regulate their connections to the extracellular matrix by measuring the forces transmitted by integrins at the single molecule level.Developed new, FRET force sensors to measure higher ranges of forces and studied how specific focal adhesion proteins control the distribution of forces.Collaborated with researchers at the Max-Planck Institute to understand how a protein called Kank can regulate mechanical forces and connect the actin cytoskeleton and the microtubule network.

Assisted staff engineers with projects such as creating sample trocars and kits for sales teams, investigating and documenting a production mold repair, and testing and qualifying production fixtures.
