We were able to recruit the best and brightest from all over the world. The Company grew to $5+ billion in revenue through organic growth and M&As. By the Spring of 2000 our market cap was $44 billion. Then we hit the dot.com bubble bust. Level 3 survived because it had become established as the leader in the industry, had a strong balance sheet, and an incredibly resilient culture. Level 3 sold to Century Link (Lumen Technologies) for $34 billion
