Dr. Steven Keller has been a recognized leader in the dental insurance industry for over forty years. He was the Founder and President of Consumer Dental Care Co., one of the first dental managed care companies in the Mid-Atlantic area. After the company's acquisition by DentaQuest in 2001, Steve served as DentaQuest's Vice President of Business Development until 2009, leading all merger and acquisition initiatives. During his tenure, the company grew from 2 million to 14 million members. After retiring in 2009, Steve grew a bit restless, and returned to work in 2013 as an independent Dental Industry Consultant. Since then, he has successfully represented both Buyers and Sellers of dental insurance companies. He has used his industry insight and broad network of key insurance executives to assist numerous clients, such as a teledentistry company, a company specializing in fraud, waste and abuse, a manufacturer of dental devices and a genetic testing company, to find the right audiences for their innovative products. Specific examples of engagements include:1. Responsible for growing the number of eligible insured members of a Teledentistry company from 5 million covered members to over 100 million covered members, over a four year period, by adding over 25 insurance companies as clients that included their Teledentistry services as a member benefit.2. Advised and served as the broker on behalf of a large insurer in the sale of its dental subsidiary in the Mid-Atlantic market; successfully oversaw the development of the Confidential Memorandum, identified potential buyers, and negotiated the sale of the company on favorable terms.3. Conducted market scans on behalf of several interested Buyers in regions into which the Buyers sought to expand. After completing the scans and identifying potential targets, Steve successfully negotiated acquisitions on behalf of these companies.4. Developed the strategic plan for a national PPO network on behalf of an insurer and assisted them with the implementation plan. 5. Engaged as an Advisor to assist in business development and lead generation by a Company that has a proprietary software solution to detect fraud, waste and abuse.
