Responsibilities: As a Corporal/acting Senior station Officer I have two main roles which are: emergency response and the day-to-day of task delegation and training. In emergency situations I lead teams, particularly in: aviation, urban, rural, hazmat and vehicle incidents. My responsibilities include: command and control of the incident, risk assessment, prioritisation of tasks and initial incident plan, delegation of tasks, assessing risk for escalation and requesting appropriate resources from different external agencies.The day-to-day components of my role include: organisation and delivery of training, running drills to develop and teach the junior ranks, ensure all performance directives are achieved and daily delegation of standard tasks to my crew members.
