Profile bio

About Steven Knape

I really wanted to be a firefighter.Turns out, what I'm good at is putting out fires.A problem solver, a crisis averter. That's me.I spent 17 years achieving goals in naval aviation, but the in-between roles are where I found success: Advocating for my Sailors and Marines, instructing in tech schools, and managing safety programs. There was firefighting too, so… Along the way, I gained great experience in aerospace, teaching, and supply chain operations. At the core is a passion for positively impacting people. Every job I will ever have will become about people. Real human beings. That's my WHY. Because I care about people. I was just meant to be of service. As far back as I remember.I mentored and engaged hundreds of Sailors. Chatted up as many strangers. I like to volunteer. One of my favorite movies, as a kid, was Patch Adams (IYKYK). I've led complex operations and have guided diverse teams to deliver top-flight operational support, logistics, training programs, and project management. I'm always seeking ways to optimize performance by introducing value-added propositions to catalyze change and move teams toward the strategic vision. Throughout my career, I've surpassed annual goals, maximized team performance, executed safety programs, and implemented efficiencies and cost controls. As a creative problem-solver and coach, I'm always cultivating a culture of accountability to inspire productivity and achieve performance excellence. A few highlights from recent years include: • Delivering 7K+ educational hours to American and Saudi Arabian aviation students, forming lasting relationships that endure to this day. • Directing operations for an aviation training project between the Navy and Marine Corps and playing a role in my team members' ongoing growth and development • Embarking on a temporary operations internship with Federal Fire & EMS, enhancing warehouse efficiency by an astounding 80% while eliminating bottlenecks in distribution. It was so motivating to help firefighters safely accomplish critical jobs.
