Managed technology data center design team to specify white-space layout, structured cabling standards and design, technology cabinet and rack specifications, air-flow requirements, in-cabinet power and cabling designs and specifications . Partnered with multiple internal and external teams to ensure the data center facility designs met all technology and business requirements. Responsible for design and delivery of new dedicated data centers to meet business needs while transitioning the entire portfolio to industry standards. The new data centers allowed the exit from several existing less resilient data centers and supported the move from CA to more data center friendly states. Collected growth plans and risk appetite from internal businesses which were translated into target locations, design criteria and capacities for two new data centers. Partnered with external A&E firms to design two new data centers to support the business’ growth plans, consolidation efforts, changing technology density requirements, increased physical security, and improved operational efficiencies. Delivered the target data centers in a staggered but overlapping construction schedule to meet the business’ aggressive timelines. Directly supported multiple migration projects to exit four data centers, two each in TX and CA into the two new data centers in TX and AZ.

Responsible for Dallas/Ft. Worth data center operations of the midrange environment, hardware and operating-system builds, backups, data restoration and support. Managed two teams of midrange hardware technicians that provided the integration of midrange x86 based hardware, the support of hardware incidents via management of the HP Self-Maintainer program. Managed two teams of Windows support technicians that provided installation, support, as well as backup and restoration services of data for the Windows based systems. Help define and deliver upgrades to data center facility infrastructure in partnership with facility operations. Championed the transition from 120V to 208V distribution in the data center environment for greater efficiency in power distribution and improved rack densities. Introduced data center operations into the change control process which had previously been undefined and operated outside corporate change.
