I helped transform Slope’s development team from a small startup style team into a robust team with full organization, development, testing, DevSecOps, and compliance processes that improved our delivery capabilities, product reliability, and system performance.System Infrastructure: In early 2023, the team had just moved from Rackspace to AWS and was entirely reliant on a DevOps consultancy for support. I moved us to in-house DevSecOps capability thus reducing cost and time-to-implement while maintaining similar yearly costs.Software Architecture: As Slope has grown, the need to integrate with third parties (EDCs, Labs, Shippers, and Suppliers) has increased. In response, I designed an app store model of integrations from which customers can choose the integrations that they need to use.Business Leadership: In this role, I have been the primary advocate for development needs with the executive leadership including driving alignment on business goals, creating reporting mechanisms, and monitoring development metrics.Team Organization: The team, in early 2023, was all very junior developers without much experience in true software development methodologies. I brought in agile/scrum practices, proper review and testing processes, and built out distinct scrum teams. I also created a competency matrix /career ladder to help the team understand what each role requiresOrganizational Growth: In 2024, I have grown the team from 9 to 14 across Development, DevSecOps, Tier 3 technical support, and SQA teams as well as added an off-shore contracting team.Engineering Culture: Slope had a great culture when I joined and my goal has been to keep that going through the many changes that have occurred. To that end, we have had zero attrition in the development team during my tenure.Compliance/Legal/Regulatory: At Slope I have participated in SOC2 and 21 CFR Part 11 audits and implemented both proactive and reactive compliance remediations.

I grew, organized, and led a 45+ member engineering team responsible for all aspects of DrChrono’s products including Electronic Health Records (EHR), Practice Management, Payments and consumer (patient) facing applications. Engineering sub-teams included web, mobile, DevOps, QA, and Scrum Master teams.System Infrastructure: In 2020 the product infrastructure was reaching the limits of its capabilities and was causing severe customer quality issues. As a response, I brought on an experienced DevOps engineer and we moved our infrastructure to AWS which, in conjunction with improved engineering processes, led to a 50% increase in web request volume and a 21% reduction in customer service tickets per provider.Software Architecture: The product, in 2020, was about 10 years old and had outgrown its original architecture. I moved to alleviate this problem by leading our team to make incremental improvements to our software monolith. This included database bifurcation/sharding, re-architecting our scheduling and clinical form builder, use of AWS lambdas, converging to React and GraphQL as interfaces, and hands-on improvement of our integrations with payments and lab vendors.Organizational Growth: Incremental budget in 2021 was planned to only allow four additional senior SW Engineers in the US but through a transformed interview process and creative offshore and onshore sourcing, we hired 29 full time & contract engineers with a >90% offer acceptance rate. Also, eNPS improved to from -50 to +70 and attrition was reduced from eight in H1 ‘21 to zero in H2 ‘21.Business Leadership: In this role, I worked closely with our co-founder and COO, as well as other executives from across the company to improve our overall standing in the marketplace via delivery of segment leading system capabilities such as our integrated Telehealth offering. This and other initiatives, led to an increase in product NPS from -49 to +2 and to a successful exit via acquisition.
