During my advanced HIV outpatient pharmacy practice experience, I completed 15-20 patient reassessments daily by evaluating medical charts, HIV viral load, and CD4 cell count to assess antiretroviral therapy (ART) adherence and efficacy; making suggestions for medication interventions when necessary. I also submitted 8-10 prior authorizations daily, ensuring prompt approval of life saving medications for local HIV/AIDS patients. Finally, I had the opportunity to educate pharmacists and fellow APPE students on the pathophysiology, clinical presentation, and treatment of “HIV associated Wasting Syndrome”.

Rounded with the ICU team and received hands-on experience in interprofessional collaboration. Received training in unit dosing and regularly prepared unit dose packs with 97% accuracy, ensuring efficiency and accuracy of pharmacy operations. Received training in KitCheck and prepared crash carts for the OR team with 98% accuracy.
