EXPERIENCE:25 years experience in the design of municipal water treatment and conveyance systems, and pumping and storage systems. Project experience includes all aspects of design from early conceptual to creation of design documents (drawings and specifications) through final construction oversight. Planning experience includes computerized hydraulic modeling and construction cost e estimates of present and future system needs. DEEP WELL AND PUMPING SYSTEMS/WATER STORAGE DESIGN:Deep well design and pump selection for high capacity (2000 GPM plus) potable water and raw water systems. Retrofitting of contaminant treatment systems (such as GAC and ion exchange for removal of 123-TCP/VOCs, Perchlorate/PFAS, Nitrate) into existing well pumping systems, development of hydraulic profiles, process flow diagrams, mechanical piping layouts, and pump upgrades to restore flow capacity loss from the additional headlosses. Design of water storage (prestressed concrete and steel ground storage tanks) and booster pumping systems for potable water, recycled water, and raw water systems.CAREER GOALS:At this point in my career (22+ years experience) I find working is not an absolute requirement, semi-retired, but I am not opposed to long term full-time positions or varied hours, contract work assignments, municipal staff augmentation, or international assignments. I am a registered PE in Florida as well as California and have elderly parents in Florida; therefore I would also consider returning to the Sunshine State for the right opportunity.I find myself working because I like to work, and because of this the types of projects I am involved with are important. I enjoy serving in a role as project technical leader on engineering projects as well as active hands on design, drafting, and construction inspection oversight. As a Peace Corps Volunteer I have served in the Parque Nacional Nevado de Colima, the national park located adjacent to city of Guzmán in the southwest Mexico State of Jalisco. My primary duties involved assisting the park with the design and construction aspects of their water systems. The reforestation project in the park is the primary target for providing additional water resources. The park has a number of tree nurseries for the reforestation project, but is limited for expansion by water resources for irrigation. My efforts to expand the water resources in the park have involved the following projects:1) Fog Collection System. This project utilizes a fabric mesh stretched between two support posts. As fog comes into contact with the fabric it adheres and falls/flows by gravity to a collection trough located below. We have combined rain collection systems with the fog collection units in a unique way. Instead of a typical collection trough for the fog collection units, we are using rain collection systems that consist of HDPE thermally welded to form a collection "box". The HDPE collection boxes are approximately 20 meters x 50 meters with half meter tall sides. The rain collection systems are laid out on a slight slope to direct the water by gravity to one corner, sending the collected water to a holding reservoir. Fog collection units in Chile sized at 40 square meters have demonstrated the ability to harvest as much as 260 liters per day under ideal conditions. One of our project units is 80 square meters, making it one of a very few in Mexico and the largest operating collection unit in the world. 2) Solar Powered Pumping System(Linkedin space limit reached, see resume)3) Waste Water Treatment System Rehabilitation.(Linkedin space limit reached, see resume)4) Potable Water System(Linkedin space limit reached, see resume)
