Scope of PositionThis position reports directly to the Aircraft Group Site Manager of Quality Assurance and manages activities of the Quality Engineering and Process Quality Engineering Departments at the Torrance Operations Site. This position represents Quality at management meetings where implementation and coordination of Moog policies, procedures, initiatives and site operations are conducted. It is the responsibility of the incumbent to prepare and present technical documentation to our various customers (i.e. Boeing, Airbus, Gulfstream, etc.), the FAA and other governing bodies for conformity to regulations. Reporting directly to the incumbent are Quality Engineers, Process Quality Engineers, and Coordinate Measuring Machine Programmers. The Quality Engineering Manager is expected to possess the technical knowledge required to train and direct his subordinates in all aspects of Quality Engineering and Process Quality Engineering. The incumbent will provide consultation to Design and Product Engineering Groups to establish strategies for efficient experimentation leading to product and process improvements and an understanding of functional relationships. In addition, the incumbent will provide technical direction to the Process Quality Engineering Department regarding the application of statistical methods in the fabrication process, and the standardization of these methods within Moog Inc.

Scope of PositionThis position reports directly to the Aircraft Group Site Manager of Quality Assurance and is both administrative and technical in nature. Maintain a good balance between a tactical and strategic approach to issues and solutions within the Quality Control disciplines.Responsible for managing customer, supplier and government agency support functions and interfaces to guarantee positive and constructive relationships with respect to Quality Control activities.Responsible for providing leadership and management of all Quality Control functions required to perform and support reduction program requirements within established budgets.Responsible for benchmarking, developing long term goals, and planning to keep Quality Control operation functions current, or in advance, of industry standards to assure maximum quality products while maintaining maximum efficiency.The Quality Control Manager must comply with all company directives and procedures defining quality policy and requirements.Accountabilities• Develop, maintain and administer a competent and effective Quality Control work group by providing technical assistance, instructions and training, as well as motivating and counseling subordinates.• Ensure through auditing and inspection techniques that all drawing, engineering and Quality Control requirements are met on all items manufactured at Torrance Operations.• Investigate non-conformances to drawing requirements and other specifications and seek appropriate and effective corrective action.• Plan workloads and assign priorities as required to maintain high quality standards and production schedules.• Provide good company/employee relations by administering all personnel policies fairly and consistently. Handle all grievances in the department and endeavors to resolve problems before they become major issues.

Provide quality assurance support to customers, suppliers, partners and targeted departments of the organization. This position also executes the Quality Assurance strategy of the organization to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established industry standards, government regulations and customer requirements• Provide Quality interface and expertise between the organization and its customers to proactively assure that their needs and expectations are understood and satisfied• Develop, modify, applies and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place• Promote and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment• Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conduct quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications• Develop and present training plans relative to inspection methods, use of inspection equipment, SPC and understanding of Quality Control requirements to Quality Control, Manufacturing and Production personnel• Leading the Quality Engineering efforts (QE program mgmt.) for both F/A-18 E/F & F-35

• Develop process studies on key components requested by Manufacturing, Engineering or Quality through the use of statistical quality control techniques• Results of these studies will be used to refine the manufacturing process and/or effect changes in the design (tolerance) or machined parts• Responsible for assessing and implement the use of statistical quality control in the A&T production areas• Assure parts can be manufactured, features can be properly inspected, and drawing call-outs are producible • Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes • Develop and maintain documentation and records of related process development efforts to meet regulated guidelines. This includes ensuring that manufacturing lines are made secure and have all changes made to the process tracked including performance (i.e. process capability and statistical process control)• Investigate and analyze equipment failure or issues to find the root cause, make recommendations and execute improvements• Apply Lean Six Sigma tools to processes, procedures and projects for innovative, breakthrough and continual improvements to achieve full optimization of process

Performed planning, coordinating, and administering procurement functions for all gear commodity production, prototype, and test equipment components while providing Manufacturing Engineering Support to my designated commodity.• Provided engineering support and assisted in solving supplier’s manufacturing issues. In response reduced the number of receiving inspection nonconformance’s. • Provided Lean Manufacturing methodologies to supplier process while developing process flow improvements utilizing Six Sigma methodologies and applications.• Drove analysis to support in resolving complex problems in material flow, information flow, quality, and availability to support all production.• Identified processes and procedures that needed improvement and work in a collaborative way with supporting departments; manufacturing engineering, finance, inventory control, quality, shipping, product development, and purchasing.• Provided quality support and initiative to overall goals and objectives. This was completed by gaining the trust of the supplier and creating complete visibility that decreased their delinquencies from 90 to 0 percent. The supplier is delivering product on time and is managed through weekly morning meetings. • Developed a flow chart containing three different DSP licenses to comply with ITAR.

• Participated in the set-up of the PQA laboratory and the establishment of reference levels on associated equipment• Helped prepare PQA test results for client demonstrations• Worked with the D2C team in the set-up of automation sequences for PQA testing• Assisted with the general set-up of the PQA lab and the establishment of standard operating procedures for set-up and breakdown of the portable laboratory components• Helped develop the D2C product roadmap by using publicly available and industry sources to forecast sales figures and current penetration rates for mobile and tablet devices• Assisted in the development of a base device matrix for both mobile and tablet devices• Participated in the implementation of automated testing
