The Doe Fund Inc. helps homeless or recently incarcerated men and women by providing job training and employment opportunities.I was a Project Coordinator for one of their business ventures, RWA Resource Recovery, which collects waste cooking oil from restaurants to be sold to make BioDiesel. RWA Resource Recovery provides the men and women in the program the opportunity to study with employees in the program to obtain a commercial driver license (CDL). Once the training period is complete the program helps find the trainees a job as a commercial driver. My responsibilities as project coordinator included: - Scheduling of all truck routes- Data entry of all collections- Keeping accurate records of clients in database - Manage warehouse inventory- Order supplies and uniforms- Troubleshoot any issues that occurred during the week. - Customer relations- Lead person for all employee and trainee issues. - Implemented a new routing system that increased the amount of oil collected by 75% per month.

Interned with the Human Service Department of the Planning and Preparedness division and prepared the launch of the Nation's first Housing Recovery Plan in conjunction with the Coastal Storm Plan. Utilized the Coastal Storm Plan as a guideline for designing and pushing forward the Housing Recovery Plan. Assisted in organizing the City's first Disaster Volunteerism Conference with partner agencies and organizations. Coordinated with the VOAD subcommittee and the Disaster Volunteers Task Force, to write the Nation's first Convergent Group Support Plan. Worked with ARC, FEMA, and local government departments as well as other non-profit organizations while interning at OEM.
