I have worked in various parts of the Payments organization for over 10 years, from transaction processing to handling stored value to fee and foreign exchange calculation.Project Highlights:* Enable transaction processing availability, addressing database downtime concerns, approaching 5 9's availability (99.999%) for merchant transactions* Service isolation of payments code, allowing for development and updating of transaction creation code with minimal impact to clients* Abstraction of transactional data model, to hide implementation details for clients while still providing needed functionality and information* Service isolation of stored value (balances, short term tab, reserve) concerns, impacting every transaction processed* Migration of price calculation logic from C++ to a REST-base Java server, including traffic redirection across services, while minimizing impact to clients. This effort also included shadowing mechanism to validate new code before enabling traffic redirection ramp

Key responsibilities included creating and maintaining software used the system. Additional responsibilities and accomplishments included:+ Maintaining client-server architected software.+ Extending functionality of existing software. + Managing and extending graphical user interface for those pieces of the system.+ Documenting changes to existing functionality and use of newly added capabilities, used to train field support staff and available as reference material.+ Finding, tracking, and fixing bugs in several different programs. + Quality Assurance testing, following specific guidelines for testing the entire system. As opposed to general troubleshooting, QA testing is more regimented, using automated scripts for testing purposes.+ Setting up demonstration systems to showcase current capabilities and still-in-progress functionality.+ Acting as technical representative to multiple trade shows, interacting with current customers and potential clients.
