SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER | PROJECT MANAGERI am a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with extensive experience in municipal markets designing sanitary, storm, and water systems, roadways, subdivisions, and sites that best meet user needs. I find great satisfaction in creating designs that actually help people and watching those designs be built. Some of these life-changing projects include a four-mile, 36” interceptor sewer through town; a three-mile, federally-funded road reconstruction; and a 20-mile water system for a hog-raising operation which was not built due to hog market fluctuations.Despite my 30+ years of experience, I am not averse to new ways of doing things. In fact, I embrace and encourage innovation. The old adage, “If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it,” does not bode well with me. There are always opportunities for improvement. A good example of this is designing internal spreadsheets for roadway design. These spreadsheets improved and accelerated the iterative design process because project scenario changes and variable outcomes could be easily inserted into plans.My commitment to high quality design is second to none. I integrate information from construction practices into my designs to ensure the plans are buildable. I possess the unique ability to visualize a 2D plan in 3D. This is critical with underground systems because I can see where the new piping may intersect with or impact existing utilities.As a leader, I am approachable, collaborative, and inclusive. I foster environments of mutual respect, teamwork, and support. Facilitating brainstorming sessions creates a sense of ownership and results in everyone being on board even if their idea wasn’t included in the final design. I provide the opportunity for every voice to be heard.
