About Steven Moroni
I have three years of experience in the field of forestry and over two years of experience in the environmental science/wetlands field. Currently, I work as an Assistant Project Manager (Environmental/Wetlands Scientist) at Stoney Ridge Environmental LLC where I aid in delineating wetlands, drafting/finalizing New Hampshire Wetland and Shoreland permits/plans, monitoring sediment and erosion control compliance at construction sites, and much more. I use ArcGIS software (ArcMap & ArcGIS Pro) and AutoCAD frequently to aid in the permitting process and to create plans. To further complement these technological skills, I'm currently completing an online M.Eng. program with the University of Colorado in Geomatics and Geographic Information Systems. At my last job, I worked as a Consulting Utility Forester at ACRT Inc where I work planned my contracted utility’s storm resilience vegetation management program. This was accomplished through the identification of imminent and future problem trees around powerlines and then consulting with property owners and municipalities to grant permission to remove/reduce those hazards. Through my time with ACRT, I planned 15 circuits worth of work, which totaled approximately 65 miles. In my travels, I’ve consulted with over 500+ customers and have left a positive and professional impression of myself, ACRT, and the utility with every interaction. Originally from New York City with an interest in environmental studies, I am a graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a B.S. in Environmental Science and double minor in Geospatial Analysis & Business Administration. My coursework has included GIS Relational Database Systems, Terrestrial Ecosystems, Forest Ecology, Aquatic Ecosystems, GIS for Earth/Environmental Science, Surveying & Mapping, and Calculus. I also had the opportunity to study in New Zealand to learn about Ecology, Biodiversity, and Environmental Policy. I am continually looking to broaden my knowledge of the environmental industry. My work has given me opportunities to attend educational conferences and also earn certifications to improve my skills. I’ve proactively earned four certifications/qualifications so far - ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ), ISA Arborist, NH Arborist, and NH Commercial Pesticide Applicator - and I am looking forward to further complementing these.I enjoy challenging myself and getting out of my comfort zone whether it be traveling to a foreign place, learning a new skill, or testing my current abilities.
Listed skills include Geographic Information Systems, Microsoft Excel, Environmental Science, Global Positioning System, and 6 others.
