I architected a migration from a monolith Rails server various discrete applications into individualized TypeScript React SPAs in an Nx monorepo design for a financial tech company.I was the principal backend developer of a Security Operations browser application that created and monitored security-related tickets, written in Django REST Framework with a Pydantic model and communicated with third-party ticketing platforms using Kafka, the application-side layer I also wrote.I implemented various pairing technologies (e.g., QR Code, Bluetooth, SoftAP, EZ Mode) for a mobile IoT app in a stack of TypeScript React Native, Kotlin, and Objective-C.I wrote a Nest.js microservice having both GraphQL and REST endpoints that managed corporate clients address books.I architected and wrote the full stack of a social fitness mobile app. Both the administrative and mobile apps talked to an Express.js server that I wrote to a MySQL database.I worked in the various areas of a financial forecasting app for hospitals, providing services like associating statistical sub-accounts to appropriate business units, and estimating staffing and inventory needs during the emerging COVID protocols.I helped design the AWS microservices architecture in a CQRS pattern for a large, distributed backend that provided ML repair estimation of uploaded vehicular accident photos for insurance appraisers.I was the technical lead for an application that managed AWS infrastructure (financial forecasting, alerts and health) on behalf of clients and was deployed in a Docker container.I was the sole engineer who created a HIPAA-compliant tele-health video and chat application suite: doctor, patient, and administration. * For many teams and their applications, I coded several SPAs, written in CoffeeScript, Stylus, and Pug (called Jade then), using jQuery and Angular, requiring a wide knowledge of the Millennium (Oracle) database across many schemas, the CCL scripts I also wrote. For one team I wrote a series of graphic-intensive pages with Raphael.js that received executive distinction. While the pages, themselves, were shipped as part of a larger whole, I, nevertheless, created a separate build system outside of the standard mechanism, using Bower and Grunt, adding a testing phase (QUnit), and a data store with randomization (MongoDB, Chance.js).* For the emerging service bus, I wrote client bridges for several legacy Win32 applications, a mixture of Java and JNI, the result of which became a pluggable client-side framework whereby future development could drop-in register for bus activity.* I architected most of the middleware and backend (Java, CCL) of the company's new foray into the medical equipment market, smart machines that stocked and dispensed pharmaceutical inventories.Features I designed included auto-discovery (and status monitoring), registration, and clustering of on-network machines; smart re-routing of orders to in-stock machines, even across clusters; alerting of low inventories; self-describing machine topologies and self-reporting inventories, both in XML and validated using RelaxNG; dispensing across multi-compartments; and a client layer of contracts and eventing I defined for a new service bus.Behind the scenes, I co-authored a utility, as Maven plugins, that surveyed all JAR dependencies, assessed which were standard JARs, repackaged them as OSGi-aware (the runtime), and updated their dependency declarations, application-suite-wide, all at build-time.* I worked on all tiers of the patient and clinician booking applications for the NHS in the United Kingdom: JEE middleware, with JSPs and Servlets, and the database layer in CCL.
