As a Business Analyst, I document and evaluate the processes and systems within BDO and offer solutions / guidance on how to streamline processes and improve efficiencies within its Teams. My role involves:- Facilitating meetings with stakeholders.- Gathering data to enable understanding, analysis and documentation of business processes. (Collecting AS IS state, determining in/out of scope tasks, recommending TO BE process).- Determining and utilising appropriately requirement gathering; shadowing, survey, document based, brainstorming sessions, workshop or interview.- Critically evaluate information gathered from various sources.- Use questioning techniques to challenge requests if the scope, benefits and proposed deliverables are unclear.- Maintain a broad overview of BDO's needs and commercial activities.- Analyse available data to create suggestions on moving a project forward.- Business case development.- Act as point of contact for all participants within the project.- Governance.- Break down projects into achievable tasks, setting timeframes and goals.- Create and update workflows.- Conduct and consider risk.- Prepare and provide documentation to internal teams and stakeholders.- Obtain necessary information e.g. user requirements and relevant case studies.- Monitor project progress and address any potential issues.- Coordinate UAT.- Perform smoke testing on deployed items into production site.- Manage and maintain Issues Log for external developers.- Ensure that deliverables meet the user requirements.- Measure and report on project performance.- Project Manage - Initiation stage, planning stage, execution stage, monitoring stage and closure stage.

The main part of my role is to coordinate, analyse and communicate the innovation and design of ideas within the SSC and to the wider business. I work collaboratively with our Hub Leads, Projects Team, Mi Reporting Team and other stakeholders to build strong relationships to help ensure the successful delivery of a project.As some of the projects that I lead vary from small to large, I give consideration on how this is going to impact not just the SSC but also the wider business by completing a business case. I approach this by commercially managing what the opportunities and benefits of the proposed project will bring to the SSC. I often approach ‘change’ in a pragmatic and organised approach to ensure that the project is delivered in the most efficient and concise way and is accepted by individuals. My role allows me to work collaboratively with my stakeholders. My stakeholder management varies from Senior Associate level, through to Senior Manager level and on occasion up to Partner level. I work as a Senior Associate within the BDO SSC Liverpool Tax Hub. My role is to quality check tax returns prepared by junior members of the team prior to submission back to the Local Office. Some of the areas reviewed include Rental Income, Capital Gains Tax, Foreign Income, Residency, Self-Employment and Partnership Income.Much of my role is to analyse the information provided by the Local Office to ensure that the end client is being compliant with HMRC legislation.I manage a team within the SSC, carrying out regular 1 to 1's, mid-year and end of year reviews, coaching / feedback, weekly catch-up sessions and general day to day team management.I have been heavily involved in the development and implementation of the new work portal Service Now. I assisted the Project Team to deploy the new portal into the Personal Tax Services, Global Employer Services and Corporate Tax Services. I arranged and coordinated individuals for testing, scrutinise the designed system to ensure fit for purpose, make recommendations for further developments and coordinate local offices, SSC and developers to help ensure the project stays on track. ​
