Steven Palmer is a Service Manager at Support for Ordinary Living. Colleagues describe him as "I had the pleasure of working with Steven for 8 years at Richmond Fellowship Scotland with 7 of those being my team manager. During that time Steven mentored and promoted me from support practitioner to senior support worker, from senior support worker to complex needs coordinator. Steven encouraged me to push myself further to become a team manager last year and we worked closely managing learning disability , autism , complex needs , mental health , homelessness and addiction services in Inverclyde. Steven has a unique skill where he see’s peoples strengths and is able to motivate and develop his staff to reach their full potential. Steven is highly adaptable and is able to change his management style depending on what the person and situation requires. He was supportive of both the staff and management team and respected amongst his peers. Steven knows how to build good relationships with local authorities and external agencies and has experience in growing complex services which are successful and have achieved excellent grades with the care inspectorate. He grew our area from 400 hours to over 2000 hours in the past 5 years. Steven often went above and beyond his job titles remit and I would highly recommend Steven to lead any social care provider services as they would be in safe hands and will flourish.
