While well-versed in business litigation and legal strategies, I primarily focus my attorney practice on representing employers in all areas of labor and employment law. A significant portion of my practice is dedicated to consulting with my employer clients. I provide my clients with day to day advice on all aspects of employment law and human resources issues, including termination decisions, disciplinary actions, wage and hour compliance, sexual harassment and hostile work environment investigations, disability accommodation, leaves of absence and employment discrimination. Additionally, I assist clients with executive employment agreements, non-competition agreements and employment policies, procedures, programs and handbooks. I also provide management training that is designed to help employers avoid and successfully defend employment-related claims.In addition to consulting services, I have an active employment litigation practice as well. I have successfully defended and resolved all types of employment litigation in both state and federal courts, including cases under the Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, The Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the False Claims Act and the Family Medical Leave Act. I also frequently defend employers who are caught up in government agency investigations/proceedings, including investigations/proceedings with the EEOC, the Florida Commission on Human Relations, Local EEO Agencies, and the Department of Labor (both the Wage and Hour and OSHA Divisions).
