As a military veteran and electrician, environmental engineering graduate, wastewater treatment plant operator, and with my most recent experience as a water commissioner, I have a unique skill set that allows me to approach challenges with a diverse perspective. My military background instilled in me a sense of discipline, determination, and the ability to adapt to any situation. My time as a USCG electrician’s mate gave valuable experience in electrical systems and maintenance. These traits and experiences have served me well in my subsequent career paths.Building on this experience, I went on to earn a degree in environmental engineering, where I further developed my understanding of the complex interplay between human activities and the natural environment. I am passionate about leveraging this knowledge to develop sustainable solutions that balance the needs of both people and the planet. After transitioning from the military and college, I pursued a career in wastewater treatment, where I served as a wastewater operator. In this role, I gained extensive experience in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of wastewater treatment systems. I also gained a deep understanding of the importance of environmental stewardship and the critical role that wastewater treatment plays in protecting our natural resources. Most recently, I served as a deputy water commissioner, where I was responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of clean, and reliable water to my community and water users. In this role, I worked closely with stakeholders from all levels of government, as well as with community members, to develop and implement policies and procedures that safeguarded public health and ensured reliable access to water.Overall, my experience as a military veteran and electrician, wastewater operator, environmental engineer, and water commissioner has equipped me with a unique set of skills and perspectives that I believe can be a valuable asset to any organization. I am excited to leverage my experience to make a positive impact in the world, and I am always eager to learn and grow in new and challenging environments.
