Principal in a start up biotech, focused on oncology. Oversee US operations to identify and evaluate complementary technologies and opportunities in oncology marketplace. Secured seed funding through private regional investment funds. Developed a collaborative network of oncology programs and partners, including a corsortium of biotech companies, academics and government labs. Scientific programs include ras pathway modulators, p53-mdm2 protein interaction inhibitors and XIAP inhibitors. Analyzed technical reports for potential licensing partnerships. Improved operational functions with direct P&L responsibility, including procurement, accounting, human resources, facilities, licensing, and regulatory affairs.

Perform periodic facility and process audits, responsible for SOP and QA reviews, and provide safety training to biotech, pharma, and medical device clients. Facilities range from R&D sites to manufacturing plants. Interface with regulatory authorities on behalf of clients.

X-Cell Medical, an integrated drug eluting stent company, is in the cardiovascular and medical device arena. The company also focuses on discovery and development of next-generation solutions for restenosis and other cardiovascular clinical applications.Worked with physician KOLs to commercialize a medical device in the cardiovascular arena. Collaborated with medical device companies to gain clinical study experience. Directed efforts to compete for SBIR and state funding to defray corporate expenses. Drafted and filed patent on methods of treatment and prevention of acute myocardial infarction.

Lead a team of chemists and life scientists in areas of metabolic diseases, oncology and endocrine disorders. Emphasized synergies, resource sharing, collaboration, and creation of an attractive value proposition.Developed successful proposals for funding through New Jersey EDA, resulting in over $1 MM in additional revenue to organization through sales of prior years’ net operating losses.Improved operational functions with direct P&L responsibility, including contract negotiations, procurement, accounting, human resources, facilities, licensing, and regulatory affairs. HR responsibilities included management of site downsizing and addressing employee issues with professionalism and compassion.

Oversaw all operational, regulatory and administrative functions of a newly established biotech company that grew to 30 employees.Key team member responsible for negotiations and working with lawyers to facilitate a successful merger with Morphochem AG, a German biotech company; strengthened relationships with parent organization and participated on management team.Served as project manager for scientific programs in metabolic diseases, anti-infectives, and oncology. Prepared synopses for potential licensing partnerships. Trained twenty scientists to implement action items and timelines to achieve quantifiable milestones.
