Steven is a Registered Professional Planner, certified by the Planning Institute of BC and the Canadian Institute of Planners. Steven's scope is broad: he has worked for non-government organizations, housing providers, social service providers, local and provincial governments, First Nations, consulting companies, and development companies. Steven's specialties include rezoning, plan amendment, development permit and subdivision applications for multifamily residential, mixed-use, industrial, and recreation facilities. He brings vision to programming and schematic design, linking massing studies to pro forma financial models. He finesses projects into a form that facilitates approval by Authorities Having Jurisdiction. He understands that development work is about placemaking, cultivating community, and sustainability. He is known for his skill in integrating social and environmental values into market-based development projects. Steven builds effective working relationships with industry, community, civil servants, and elected officials. He has a passion for affordable and social housing. Steven is also well known for his skill in facilitating dialogue on civic issues in public meetings.
