Working in a team maintaining and modifying sawmill and ancillary equipment. Work includes, responding to breakdowns, working quickly and safely to get the line up and running, minimising downtime. Preventative maintenance, changing/repairing equipment outside production hours that have signs of wear and tear to prevent future failure. Fabrication and modification of structures and equipment for a constantly changing environment. Repair/service of stock items including renewing bearings, shafts, pneumatic and hydraulic cylinder seals and mounts. Assessment of current structures, systems and processes, Looking for improvement in the aspects of safety and production output.

Working as part of a team as part on a decommissioning project on reactor heat exchangers. Work includes fabricating and installing temporary works, pipework and structure supports on the heat exchanger steel work, Preparing and removing ducts and elbows containing radioactive material, then a full steel work strip using oxy propane burning. The entire job is run alongside other employees and contractors including, riggers and crane drivers, radiological monitors and managerial staff, Site safety personnel as well as our own company safety team, supervisors and managers.Work is carried out to a high standard to strict safety requirements following daily paperwork including: point of work risk assessments and method statements, hot works permits and radiological dose limits and recording registers.

Working as a team to produce Industrial steam and hot water boilers using materials ranging from thin gauge sheet metal to ship quality large thickness steel, alloys and stainless steels. Welding processes including mig, mag, and tig. On site experience repairing and preparing products for insurance inspections. Assisting in preventative maintenance and repairs of factory machines and equipment working alongside the factory maintenance team
