 Provide process control support to Digesting, Screening, Bleach Plant, and ClO2 Chemical Generator operating areas. Develop and maintain control strategies in Emerson Delta V and Honeywell TDC. Give support to large capital projects to install new washers and convert DCS system over 1.5 to 2-year planning and implementation periods by working with engineering services on operation and controls design specifications.  Help to manage interconnectivity of devices on plant process control network. Optimize existing controls in process area through tuning of existing control loops and addition of strategies such as feedforward and ratio control. Work with operators to develop training and operating procedures for new control strategies. Help to plan and maintain advanced control system around chemical dosages and reactor efficiency with a focus on model predictive controls. Manage smaller capital projects including an on the run DCS conversion and installation of new bulk chemical storage and delivery system. Work with subject matter experts of a variety of disciplines to improve the process and troubleshoot serious operational issues.

 Created and tested sorbents and catalysts for sulfur capture and steam methane reforming. Produced and sintered microfibrous metal sheets for in house use and sell. Assembled custom lab scale reactors for customer use with manufactured catalysts. Managed fume hood testing apparatus and chemical procurement. Trained and supervised other co-ops in operating lab setup and safety.
