I founded and built up this accounting practice, delivering client services while also directing general practice management across marketing and advertising, sales, staff acquisition and training, as well as budgeting and administration. I continually monitor the progress and quality of client deliverables to support clients with entity formation, tax elections and planning, corporate/individual/nonprofit tax return preparation, and accounting/payroll services. I was Toleq’s first financial hire, so I developed the entirety of their financial processes and established an accounting organization to effectively support enterprise operations. I led and supported 6 staff to perform general and cost accounting as well as procurement and materials management functions. It was my responsibility to set the direction of all financial activities and special projects. A large part of my job was building trusted relationships with the owner and senior leaders while introducing new levels of financial analysis, and influencing decision making to be more data driven. I partnered with senior leaders in strategic planning and developed annual operating budget and capital plan to support objectives. I reviewed and enforced credit policies and risk mitigation. I also reviewed monthly and annual reports with company ownership. To safeguard company assets, I created accounting policies and procedures and informed decision making with KPIs, analytics, and margin analysis. Select accomplishments include: ● Leading an ERP implementation (Infor SyteLine) to meet new capacity needs during rapid growth. I achieved company-wide adoption within 6 months and enabled more robust order management, forecasting, and data insights. The improved supervision of purchasing and production planning also helped to reduce Cash Conversion Cycle 20%.● Implementing full standard cost accounting system. This provided more accurate job costing data on product cost, margin, and improvement areas.

I directed a team of 3 and all financial activities for the plant. At the enterprise level, I assisted in overall strategic planning and provided extensive financial analysis to senior management. This included coordinating the preparation and presentation of our annual operating budget and capital plan. Regular activities included monitoring working capital and the entire consumer credit/collections process. I planned and executed all general and cost accounting functions and ensured compliance with internal controls and procedures. I also coordinated month-end closing activities and prepared related financial statements and reports. Select accomplishments include: ● Driving margin improvements with more detailed margin reporting, informing company which products to focus on for more profitable growth. ● Increasing working capital and accelerating cash conversion cycle ~10% by introducing lean manufacturing techniques, more diligent A/R collection, and proactive management of slow-moving and obsolete inventory. ● Converting the payroll system to a new hosted service, enhancing reporting capabilities and reducing processing costs. ● Reducing our monthly accounting close process by ~2 days by working with cross-functional leaders to improve timeliness and accuracy of reporting. I also achieved more detailed margin analysis, provided month-over-month KPI’s and analytics, and cost/volume/profit analysis.

I served as representative of the parent company CFO to the division as well as a trusted advisor to Division President. In this role, I oversaw the entire finance department operations—including all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, as well as financial modeling and forecasting. I engaged internal stakeholders at all levels to provide meaningful financial analysis and assist in strategic planning. Select accomplishments include: ● Successfully leading the company’s first SSAE 16 SOC 1 audit, ensuring adequacy of internal controls over IT and related financial processes.● Increasing monthly client inventory accuracy by ~7% while reducing time and resources spent to verify client inventory on hand each year. This involved investigating causes of inefficiencies and initiated implementation of a cycle count process for physical inventory.

I developed annual strategic plans and ensured accurate financial reporting, effective internal controls, and strong performance of teams and systems across the division. I also reviewed all reports and statements before publishing and oversaw thorough analysis to support findings. At the plant level, I instructed and trained the Plant Controllers and support staff on proper application of required policies and procedures. I then drove system implementations and enhancements and supported end users across system integration and data management. Select accomplishments include: ● Facilitating culture change by helping sales and operations managers understand the impact of volume on fixed cost absorption. The organization relied on contribution margin analysis as a new input to decision making. ● Leading a team to implement module functionality for Peoplesoft v 8.4 Manufacturing (Bills of Material, Routings, Cost Rollup and Inventory Revaluation, and Cost Management Reporting). For this project, I used query and Crystal report writing tools to develop end user reports and analyses. ● Saving ~$1M in annual raw material costs from insights from financial analysis and ROI calculations for capital projects.

Responsible for direction of all accounting activities for residential roofing manufacturing facility. Plant Controller duties included monthly accounting close and financial statement preparation, standard cost variance preparation and analysis, analysis of overhead spending vs. budget, annual formulation of standard product cost, overhead budgets, and overall plant financial plan. Served as plant information systems coordinator and supervised a staff of three (3) in performance of all plant accounting functions.
