I am a mechanical validation test engineer motivated by innovation. I enjoy working hands on with people, products and equipment that are advancing the automotive industry.My academic and professional careers have focused on gaining expertise of both electrified and ICE propulsion systems. My mechanical engineering studies at Kettering University included an automotive engineering design specialty. This specialty involved courses covering powertrain fundamentals, and optimization/ theory of ICE/xEV propulsion systems. Starting from the beginning of my academic career, to the present I have been employed by BorgWarner, working in mechanical validation. As a co-op I was responsible for assisting with validation testing of transfer cases, AWD couplings, e-gear reduction units as well as electric drive modules. My current role involves executing DVP&R testing of both part time and active transfer cases for passenger car and truck applications.I enjoy a fast paced work environment, and seek to be in the center of activity. I have demonstrated success in this through supporting testing for a new business opportunity, with highly dynamic requirements. This agility ultimately contributed to being awarded the business.My current responsibilities involve creation tracking and execution of DVP&R's, forecasting test equipment usage, and programming of test equipment to efficiently deliver test results. I most enjoy successfully collaborating with coworkers and mentoring interns and new hires. In my free time I enjoy retro cars and motorcycles, and consider myself a "maker". I enjoy developing my fabrication skills to use both wood and metal to make stylish and functional furniture.
