As a Journeyman electrician employed at Silent-Aire my roles and duties with the manufacturing company were to complete electrical installations on multi-scale data air handling units and other HVAC units. My tasks range from installation of EMT pipe, running electrical wires and cables for various circuits, motor terminations, VFD termination and installations, terminating control and power wiring on electrical panels, installing various control devices on the units.

As a Journeyman electrician with AECOM my role and activities take place at Imperial Oil’s Kearl Lake Oil sand operations.• LO/TO authority experience for various locations in the Kearl Lake plants.• Maintaining electrical motors and generators.• Obtained training performed by Imperial Oil for there ePTW & Permit holder to have the capability to preform permit writing on all Imperial Oil/Exxon Mobil sites.• Exponential knowledge preforming permit writing, JSA’s (FLHA) and ICC’s (Isolation certificates).• Preforming insulation (megger) tests, metering lines to verify isolation has been established. • Completing 12 month inspections on heat trace control cabinets, resplicing RTD cables in cabinets as well on the field and power kits/splice kits.•Scheduled and completed preventative maintenance tasks.•Commissioning of electrical equipment & testing of power panels, circuit breakers, transformers and fire detectors in a live oil and gas facility• Troubleshooting and installing electrical circuits in motor control centres, UPS systems.• Removal and re-installations of heat trace for replacement of mechanical piping systems.• Working along other journeyman and apprentices from various trades.• Maintaining and installations of electrical and instrumentation components such as motors, pressure transmitters, RTD’s, transformers, flow transmitters etc.

As a 4th year apprentice electrician my role and activities with PCL Energy took place at Suncor’s Fort Hills project just north of the Fort MacKay region. Where I preformed many tasks ranging from heat tracing, motor and controller cabinet terminations to name a few.

As a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year apprentice electrician my roles and activities with STP Electric Ltd. Were a broad spectrum of all sectors of the trade ranging from residential, commercial, institutional and industrial construction and maintenance.•Wiring houses and other dwelling units from start to finish in new construction or renovation projects as well as multiple commercial projects such as retail stores and office spaces •Maintenance of retail stores, medical institutions and oil and gas facilities•Installing telecommunications cabling and terminations in commercial office spaces and dwellings•Motor control and starter installations •Bending and installation of electrical conduit
