My responsibilities include all aspects and oversight of the police department's technology assets and needs (i.e., budgeting, service contracts, contracted vendors). Beyond general management and supervision of unit and human resource assets of Technology Office, my duties also include:Planned, preventative and reactive maintenance of all systems, path-forward planning, and coordination of upgrades to critical systems ( examples: CAD, RMS, MFR reporting services, servers, and network devices, etc..The oversight of all technology systems serving the police dispatch center. Namely; building security systems, CAD, RMS, radio console networks, jail monitoring systems, police station servers, VMs, mobile laptop fleet, client computer fleet, command vehicle, police vehicle fleet, and radio site locations. With this being a law enforcement institution in Florida, my office already requires me to have a level 4 of Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification. I also service as the CJIS LASO for the agency. The Homestead Police Department is a mid-size agency requiring the technical oversight and administration of approximately 200 employees, facilitating the need for me to be involved at all levels from end-user support too server-level and management/budget planning and to prepare budget planning items and speak when necessary before the city council. Future planning is critical while concurrently maintaining a fiscally responsible budget.
