What I Do:I am an IT and data professional with a strong IT business analyst background. I collaborate with development teams and business stakeholders to deliver exceptional application experiences. I have several years’ experience across many technologies and various business functions. In my previous roles, I developed a strong skillset including process analysis and design, data modeling, requirements development, project management, end-user training/support, SQL and support for IT systems and solutions. What Drives Me:My strength as an IT analyst lies in my natural curiosity. Whether I’m developing new processes, leveraging new technology, or looking to improve existing systems, I always strive to gain a deeper understanding of my supported areas and continuously ask, “Why?” I have an intrinsic desire to get into the details of a system, its processes, and its data so that I can leverage this knowledge to improve applications for my users. What I Am Passionate About:I am passionate about helping people. I am most satisfied on a day-to-day basis when I can log off knowing that I have made someone’s day better. While it may sound strange, I find that my role as an IT business analyst has allowed for me to do this in all sorts of ways. It may be putting in the time to look at system data deeper to help with a presentation. Perhaps it’s fixing that application bug that has been pestering users for years and years. Or it could be building an Excel tool to help the QA team ensure they’re getting the right results from the system. I thrive on finding these small ways to help my teammates and customers every day. What I’ve Been Up to Lately:One of my personal upskill objectives is the learn the Python programming language and use this to work on personal projects. Why would a business analyst need to learn a programming language? One of the key parts of my job has been providing developers with what they need to succeed in the form of requirements. I believe that the more I know about what they do, the better I can be at giving them what they need. Python is a great starting point for new programmers and is often the language of choice for data-intensive projects, which are particularly interesting to me. I hope that this experience will help me become an even more effective communicator with technical teams in future roles.
