The Technical Director serves as the final line of review for all code, permit, and production related issues. The drawing quality and code compliance of said drawings is the Technical Directors responsibility. He or she shall begin the quality control process by training the junior staff in code related issues, permit process, and M+A’s CAD libraries, standards, and processes. The Technical Director will serve as a project manager on some projects as appropriate and produce full sets of drawings or augment another member’s effort as required. This person should expect that they will tackle the tougher details, perform research, and coordinate with consultants as needed for new challenges the team faces.The Technical Director must collaborate with the Design Director as, together, they lead the project deliverables and studio production. The Technical Director and Design Director will have varying levels of involvement in each project but will both be responsible for this transition in leadership. The Technical Director must have a strong command of design and technology and work with the Design Director to develop and maintain the standards and library’s necessary to keep M+A a top DC design firm. The Technical Director should prepare regular training sessions, site visits, and webcasts, to further develop the staff’s technical abilities and keep projects moving smoothly. The Technical Director will foster client relationships where possible and participate in interviews for most, if not all, potential projects. The Technical Director will assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations, bringing their experience and creativity to bear on the pursuit of future projects.

Assisted manufacturing engineers with the design and development for sheet metal, steel 40 ton presses, and mustang mills in manufacturing facility. Work consisted of CAD drawings, R&D issues, and mechanical problem solving.
