I have over 35 years legal practice experience in commercial, healthcare, business & property matters. My early career specialisation in taxation provided the foundation & direction for my move into the commercial and SME fields of practice & has proven invaluable in dealing with complex transactions. I recognise the importance of understanding the needs of each client and of having a close working relationship with them. My practice is built on the simple basics of being available, contactable, doing what needs to be done when it needs to be done & having a genuine concern for my clients & the outcomes that affect them.My experience includes several years looking at commercial matters from the client’s side of the desk. My pragmatic & practical commercial approach developed through working in the commercial environment & dealing with challenges businesses face every day.I regularly advise on complicated commercial & property transactions, the complexities of the ownership & operation of healthcare businesses and healthcare services, & on all aspects of franchising law. I am one of only a few lawyers in Australia who has advised on & evolved with the six successive Government Guild Community Pharmacy Agreements & Pharmacy Location Rules & who has extensive experience dealing with State & Federal authorities & regulatory boards responsible for healthcare professionals & pharmacies.I have enjoyed & learnt from the experiences of where my commercial practice has taken me, including to all parts of the world with international transactions. The benefits of international transactions, working with different people with different business cultures & the way they deal with commercial transactions to persevere, put the effort in, find solutions & resolve disputes are all part of my experience, my approach to matters, whether they be straight forward or complex, & what I strive to see is an integral part of the Stoddart Legal way.
