I report to the IT Director and manage the IT Infrastructure, Development, IT Support, Salesforce and IT Security teams across FSB. I'm responsible for leading the strategic planning of these busines units and managing the IT Department budget.While employed in this post I have renewed the mobile phone contract saving the business £50k over the term, I have migrated the business to SD-WAN improving security and internet bandwidths for the same cost as the previous contracts and I have vastly improved security and upgraded our monitoring software to name a few.

Heading up the IT Infrastructure and Support departments includes looking after end users to office refreshes and WAN link implementations. I manage a team of 7 staff who cover the 5 UK FSB offices.I have made numerous improvements to the security of the FSB estate from implementation of local site Fortigate firewalls to Azure AD security improvements and firmware upgrades across physical hardware.We are also supporting FSB in their adoption of Salesforce and have made numerous changes to Conditional Access and SSO in support of this. As a result of the planned Salesforce implementation and a reduction in the number of VM's I'm currently working on a plan to shift our physical data centre to Azure over the next 12 months.

Head of IT for a large Manufacturing Company based in Blackpool, supporting over 250 users over 10 UK sites. The role of an TDL is to lead and effect the implementation of multiple large complex ICT solutions, involving the configuration and delivery of a wide range of products. This included building IT Systems for approximately 10 schools, colleges and young peoples detention centers in the UK.I hold regular project meetings with the clients stakeholders and the allocated project team to define, guide and design the clients IT solution. A vital area is to understand the client's long term ICT vision ensuring that any implementation work reflects the clients future needs and aspirations to support Teaching and Learning in the 21st century.I was the senior technical person onsite responsible for the installations up to £5m, I worked on dual data centres for Sunderland College, Hartlepool BSF, Rochdale BSF, Manchester BSF, Tameside BSF and a number of pupil referral units as well as secure children's units.

As the sole person responsible for ICT at the £4.5 Million City Learning Centre my duties entail managing the buildings IT infrastructure. This was done working within the ITIL framework to ensure best practice is maintained and to ensure working practices can easily be followed by others. As part of the role I was also responsible for developing engaging uses of ICT for local schools, community groups and local residents.I was responsible for eight servers running Windows Server 2003, around 120 computers and laptops and a suite of Apple Macintosh's. I migrated all users to a new domain and installed three Dell 2950 servers running Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition; this was due to finding out on my first day that no resources were available on the current network.

As the Colleges IT Systems Manager I was responsible for developing and maintaining the schools ICT vision, including the development and maintenance of the schools ICT infrastructure. Again this was done working within the ITIL framework to ensure best practice is maintained and to ensure working practices can be easily followed by others. Over the four years I worked at the College I fully refreshed the Colleges ICT infrastructure, I also wrote the school's first ICT development plan. I was responsible for managing the schools ICT budgets in relation to new hardware, software, additional peripherals and software licensing, I was also responsible for negotiating prices for hardware and support from third.I had sole responsibility for over 52 Promethean IWB's, 400 desktops PCs, 150 laptops and several apple mackintoshes. I managed three IT Technicians, whom I appointed and trained as well as arranging their daily workloads. I was also responsible for carrying out their annual performance reviews every year and providing regular progress update. I also assisted in other areas of the curriculum such as the year 10 & 11 Rugby teams, Duke of Edinburgh expeditions and training, as well as Mountain Biking activities.
