I oversee the corporate communications practice at Citizen Optimum, the Canadian arm of the integrated PR consultancy Citizen Relations. Our clients include Procter & Gamble, Egg Farmers of Canada, Hyundai, Hydro One, Bayer and City Core Developments. Citizen Optimum was recently named 2013 Canadian Agency of the Year by The Holmes Report.

CCVT works with thousands of people new to Canada — mostly refugees — who have been tortured and/or are victims of war. About half of the clients are children. It offers people a welcoming community and a wide range of support services, including psychological counseling, vocational training and special workshops to help them heal and integrate into society.

I designed and executed a training program to increase the level of professionalism among business reporters at 12 newspapers in Dhaka, Bangladesh. I spent two months there working closely with the reporters and editors, with an aim to reduce corruption by exposing it in the media.
