I have worked in the home goods and garden center for the past year. The job is about 50% customer service: helping customers find what their looking for, opening locked cases, and recommending products. The other 50% is unpacking boxes, pulling pallets of freight, stocking shelves, etc. I have further honed my customer service and people skills here, while beginning to understand the basics of consumer commerce and economics, working through holiday seasons and the basic flow of products into this major Kroger store.

Using my previous restaurant experience I have fit in well at this fast-paced breakfast and sandwich shop, able to fill in wherever they have needed me over the last couple years, effectively manning the register, the line, dishes, as well as delivery and catering work. The eat to give model of the store attracted me immediately and I started working here shortly after I moved to Salt Lake. I honed my multitasking and customer service skills here over the past two years and can fluidly and effectively work in fast paced environments.

It was at this job I began to understand and master fast paced environments, multitasking, and customer hospitality.

At this Catholic parish in Southern California my responsibilities included answering phones about any questions on parish events or scheduling, greeting visitors from many different cultures and backgrounds that belonged to the parish, first responder to all the parish facilities (emergency and not), help with parishioner requests for any number of events, management of multiple tasks, and unlocking and locking-up church and office buildings. I was also considered the front line for anyone visiting the church, and so learned to be friendly and welcoming no matter the circumstance.
