Responsible for the overall print procurement strategy including supplier negotiation, management, and performance. Managed suppliers in sheetfed and offset web printing, and/or other print categories.Responsible for profiling new clients, developing, and pitching strategic solutions for managing their indirect spend. Including advertising, collateral, point of sale, direct mail, commercial, marketing print, promotional products, teacher / student manipulative products and much more.Responsible for procurement to pay operational efficiencies, devising and maintaining compliance of vendor contract service level agreements, and continuous improvements within a metrics-driven environment. Identified savings opportunities up to 40% less than current pricing for over $750,000,000 in print spend for Fortune 500 clients such as: Educational Publisher – achieved savings of 30%+ over the three largest categories using a volume aggregation and vendor consolidation effort. Achieved savings of 56% for commercial print utilizing a vendor consolidation effort. Retail - achieved savings of 20%+ on inserts program in a very competitive, low margin category with tough negotiations. Beverage / Retail - Point of Sale signage – achieved savings of 40%+ by changing the purchasing methodology from single source to commodity buys. Banking – able to provide 30%+ savings in direct mail even after spend was reduced by more than half due to the economy. Responsible for assuring that contracted savings targets are consistently met. Based on in depth understanding of clients’ business process and priorities, developed solutions to meet mutually agreed goals. Perform vendor audits and qualification initiatives to align with strategy. Executed and managed an eAuction program. Trained qualifying vendor partners to use an online auction tool to participate in online auctions. Achieved 30% + savings in direct mail for Banking client.

Held executive positions at Loyola Press, an academic and religious textbook publisher where he managed all print procurement, coordinated all direct mail manufacturing and managed the day to day fulfillment and distribution operations from 2003 to 2007. In 2003 he successfully outsourced Loyola Press’s on-site distribution warehouse, relocating over 2,000,000 products from three locations in a two month period.
