My name is Steven Turi. I most recently worked for Nickerson & Associates LLC as a Data Analyst. I previously served as an Analysist at EES Consulting in Kirkland, WA (Seattle-area) and also served as an Economist for the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) in Washington, DC. I was a graduate student at the University of Idaho (Moscow, ID). I have finished my undergraduate education at Washington State University (Pullman, WA) where I studied Economics, Japanese, and English. My Master's research focused on community economics using input/output modeling, social accounting matrices, data envelopment analysis (DEA), and others. I am familiar with economic disciplines such as international trade, natural resource economics and industrial organization. I was involved in an economics internship at the Washington Center for Real Estate Research (WCRER), which composes economic data about the real estate market in Washington state. Research AssistantUniversity Of Idaho Jun 2012 - Sep 2014Developed data envelopment analysis (DEA) efficiency model of all counties in the United States for community capitals (physical capital, human capital, etc). The goal of the research was to use factor analysis to create factor loadings for these community capitals based on component variables (for human capital, component variables would be number of high school graduates, number of people with bachelor's degrees, etc). These factor loadings are then used to calculate efficiency via DEA to determine which counties are most efficient. Counties deemed inefficient can then determine how far they are from the most efficient frontier and can calculate what resources and community capitals they need to improve.Previously conducted price co-integration research of salmon (Chinook, Sockeye, Pink, Coho, Chum), halibut, and sablefish fisheries in Alaska and British Columbia to find certain correlations in pricing. -
