Steve’s ability to adapt to the challenges of complex, high-pressure work environments has earned him continued success in his professional career. Prior to taking on his first role in the cockpit, Steve enlisted in the United States Army as a Combat Medic and Jumpmaster. In these positions he displayed the ability to solve problems, communicate, and utilize his technical knowledge to complete tasks efficiently and effectively. His hard work did not go unnoticed. Steve earned the opportunity to become a Trauma Team Leader where he led a cohort of three Army medics and a doctor through combat, conducting time sensitive medical procedures. In 2010, Steve had reached the pinnacle of his Army medical career and decided it was time to pursue his life-long passion for aviation. He was one of three candidates selected among 60 of his peers for a flight training slot on the AH-64D Apache for the North Carolina Air National Guard.
