Steve is a co-founder and creative director at Turnstyle. His design expertise includes branding/ identity, print, packaging and digital design. His work has been recognized by numerous organizations and publications including AIGA, Asia-Pacific Design Yearbook, Communication Arts, D&AD, The Dieline, Graphis, Red Dot and Type Director’s Club. Notable clients include: Amazon, Bluetooth, Juno Therapeutics, Microsoft, Mithun, NHL Seattle, Nordstrom and Starbucks.Steve served for two years on the board of AIGA Seattle. He was a juror for the Communication Arts 56th Design Annual, and was on the editorial committee for Asia-Pacific Design (APD) 14. He has been a guest speaker, presenter and panel member at various design industry events, conferences and workshops. In 2019, he was a guest lecturer and led student workshops at the Roberto Garza Sada Center for Art, Architecture, and Design at the University of Monterrey. From 2018 to 2022 Steve taught a course on corporate identity design for juniors in the VCD program at the University of Washington. ABOUT TURNSTYLE:At Turnstyle, we believe in design. Are we brand consultants? Sort of, but really we're designers. We design things. Things like visual identities, business cards, packages, books, bags, menus, websites, airplane tails, and experiences. We believe that design is strategic, but that strategy isn't design. We believe that the way something looks and feels really matters; that craft and execution really make a difference. We believe that style is an emotional shorthand; a simple way to say complex things. We believe that design is a catalyst between message and audience. That every company, organization, product or project needs design to both show and tell its unique story. And at the end of the day, If you let us coordinate the design of all your experiential touch points, then we've designed your brand (expression) too. And that sort of makes us brand consultants. But really we're designers.
