I support in the delivery of Engineering Trains to operational worksites across the North West. From haulage to materials, loading preferences to routing trains from Distribution Centre to site, I specialise in ensuring the correct requirements for the job arrive on site to support operational colleagues in all manner of railway possessions.Working closely with yards, access planners, delivery teams, works requestors and works deliverers, I act as the spearhead and face of Supply Chain Operations within Network Rail to ensure infrastructure on the railway is maintained, renewed or upgraded as necessary through haulage planning.We have copious amounts of wagons and specialist units in our fleet that are designed for specific purposes depending on worksite requirement. Everything from aggregate to new rail, S&C to cranes - My team and I arrange haulage via our suppliers and work with various teams and specialists within the business - both SCO and beyond - to transport resource around the north west. Whilst the train is expected to turn up on site as required, built as designed, we work closely with our suppliers to understand network limitations, routing to and from site across the network, driver, groundstaff and operator shift times and piece together a plan that is delivered effectively, safely and at efficient economic and environmental cost.
