Gained experience in my first few years of work with various construction duties such as framing, sheeting, drywall, insulating, roofing and siding. Stepped out of the construction industry and dipped my toes into the Oil & Energy industry. Developed more skills and experience in several areas such as repairing various torque tools and hydraulic pumps. While working in the Oil & Energy industry I was able to transition into an office role and learn more on the business side of things. Tasks include cold calling, trying to spread word about our mobile torque wrench calibration lab and providing quotes on tool repairs and replacements. Scheduling visits out of town for the mobile calibration lab and creating good relationships with customers. Moved back into the construction/home building side of the world and started at Wood Master Cabinets Ltd. Began with running the CNC and edge bander, while also handling all the shipping and receiving. After a few years I decided to pursue my Journeyman Cabinetmaker Ticket. Once trained in school I was able to expand my work in the shop and gain experience in all areas such as assembling custom cabinets, creating custom doors, wood finishing and creating custom cabinet parts. With lots of experience under my belt in the shop, I have transitioned into a role in the office. My new role consists of creating work orders for the shop, revising drafted drawings of cabinets/homes, creating custom cabinets based on customer wants & needs and creating positive relationships with suppliers and customers.
