Steven is a Pilates instructor, movement professional, and dancer/performer, with a lifelong background in somatic practices. Movement has always played a major role in all aspects of his life. He is continually inspired by the Pilates method as it has helped him fine tune his movement potential and overall health. Steven began his dance career as a student at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee where he received his BFA, as well as studied a vast amount of somatic studies including Yoga, Alexander Technique, Laban Studies, and of course Pilates. Post graduation, Steven relocated to NYC and was fortunate to train through the Kane School of Core Integration in New York City alongside industry leaders where he gained a strong foundation in a clinical approach to the Pilates method. He has also completed the Functional Anatomy for Movement and Injuries Workshop through the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in NYC.In 2016, Steven moved to Chicago and started his own teaching project as well as worked in corporate wellness, and other industry leading studios in the area. Steven started focusing on working with “neuro clients” and has had the privilege of collaborating with many clients with Parkinson’s, MS, and CP. 2019 brought Steven to Southern California where he taught as well as managed Vero Pilates in Long Beach CA and saw it through the pandemic closures and transition back to new normal operations. Wanting to get back to a primary focus in teaching, Steven launched Z Moves Pilates teaching clients in person in the LA area and virtually worldwide. Steven is also a mentee of theneurostudio.com’s mentorship program where he is continuing to hone in on results driven work and the development of cutting edge concepts.
