We work with a diverse group of art historians and archaeologists from more than 150 colleges, universities, and research centers, and with curators from 40 leading museums, as well as artists, members of Indigenous Nations and other knowledge bearers to make the highest-quality art history equitable and accessible for millions of learners.Who uses Smarthistory?Smarthistory is the most visited art history resource in the world. In 2023, Smarthistory content received 60 million views and currently has more than 300,000 YouTube subscribers. 600 universities, museums, research centers, and other art and educational institutions recommend and link to Smarthistory resources.Smarthistory is dedicated to supporting a new—public—art history that is diverse and works to reverse the historical biases of the discipline. Beyond creating and publishing widely-used resources, we recently awarded honoria to seventy vulnerable early career scholars directly impacted by the pandemic.
