Being bought over by Matrikon meant learning a new product base, and augmenting oursolutions to this infrastructure. It also meant growing our team.Built solutions using Matrikon core products.Mentored new starts.

As the third employee of PI Automation, I had to be technically flexible, this was a fast-paced environment of experienced control engineers, where I was responsible for softwaredevelopment.• Designed and Built the PIA Connection Manager,A middle tier product which became the core of all PIA applications.• Built and restructured monitoring applications to form a cohesive structure, under thePIA Connection Manager.• Built, and deployed a web-based production reporting system for Venture.• Tested, and Deployed OPC links for various clients.• Involved in development and maintenance of the following applications:o PCHE monitoring,o Compressor monitoring,o TurboTracker (Gas Turbine Monitoring).

Developed real-time applications for oil and gas data analysis

An unresponsive IT company had left the companies network unoperational. My mandate wasto restructure this failing network, and hand it over to a capable company.Responsible for restructuring the IT network, and in sourcing an IT support company totake over this role.

My placement with PI (a leading engineering consultancy in Aberdeen) gave me my first realexperience in developing software for a small company.Came a unanimous first place in judgement of Student placement presentations in 2000Created a variety of performance calculation products that added real value to thecompany.
