When I was in junior high, and about to pick my courses for my first year of high school, I noticed that one of the courses I could take was AP Computer Science. I decided to go for it, even though everyone I had talked to said it would be incredibly difficult, especially for a freshman in high school. That course ended up being one of the most fascinating courses I took in high school. I ended up with an A for both semesters, and I realized how much I enjoyed working with computers. I figured out that year that I wanted to have a career that involved computers in some way. I knew that I enjoyed it, and on top of that I knew that I was good at it. Since then, I have been focused on refining what exactly I want to do with computers. My dad works in cyber security, and he tells me about what he's doing for each job. What he does sounds very exciting, and I would love to have a career in cyber security. On the other hand, I have now taken many computer science classes, and have learned how to write software in a few different languages, like Java, Python, and C/C++, so I know that I would be very happy with a career writing software.
