I'm an urban ecology researcher with a keen interest in how trees interact with their environment. My work has recently been focused on scientific method improvement, project coordination, data collection and management, analysis, and scientific communication, outreach and education. I hope to someday develop projects that leverage the power of community with citizen science to solve locally-important environmental problems. I am committed to nurturing a diverse and inclusive environment wherever I set foot.My research interests include ecology at various scales (community, landscape, ecosystem) and schemas (restoration); carbon and water cycles; ecosystem services; carbon sequestration; UAS applications for forest research; autonomous data collection systems; and wildlife conservation related to trees and forest ecosystems.Feel free to connect with me if you also love trees!

Orise Database Management FellowUsda Forest Service May 2024 - PresentOlympia, Washington, United StatesI scan and digitize hard copy environmental survey data to produce a queryable dataset for future research needs. I've developed databases for stream, vegetation, and wildlife data from Mount St. Helens and the PNWRS. My computer and organization skills are critical in this work for processing, labeling, and sorting maps and data forms. My communication and time management skills are also particularly useful since the work is entirely remote. I approach this work by aiming to develop databases that might be useful to researchers 100-300 years in the future. -
