I had the pleasure of supporting the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Office within the County of Ventura Executive Office. Our office supports over 9,000 county employees through programming, organizational development, and community partnership.• Staffed community outreach events and materials • Managed events and trainings attended by hundreds of staff members. • Developed and coordinated Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programming for over 30 Diversity calendar events. • Presented and facilitated trainings and workshops to County of Ventura staff and community members.• Provided staff support for the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Manager and DEI Office on countywide initiatives and office projects. • Served as a DEI community representative at meetings, events, and forums. • Assisted and attended the DEI Council, Healthcare Equity Advisory Committee, and the Public Safety Racial Equity Group. • Developed reports to inform data-driven planning and proposals to County leaders. • Designed and developed the multi-agency County DEI Annual Report• Formed partnerships and joint projects across 25 County agencies• Created branded social media campaigns and developed print media for internal and external outreach. • Community and promotional outreach and stakeholder engagement.• Assisted with community event sponsorship process

-Served as the Southern California representative in a system-wide study of Disabled Students Program and Services (DSP&S) at the 112 California community colleges. -Assisted in the assessment of critical functions of the DSPS. -Formed major recommendations to reform essential function of system data collection of student and success outcomes. This including reconstructing the state funding formula for accessibility services. - Review and made recommendation to education policy through Title 5 changes and updates-Became familiarized with the Americans with Disabilities Act and its Amendments- Became acquainted with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act-Studied key federal and state requirements for Education Institutions-Became acquainted with the primary governmental funding and reporting mechanisms

-Represented the current and future student body of Allan Hancock College as a member of the College Board of Trustees.-Oversight of all college programs and policy changes to which the Board of Trustees had purview. -Approved expenditures of the 180 million dollar Measure I facilities bond. Significant projects from the bond included major infrastructure improvement, 20-million-dollar technology improvement, and nine major capital construction projects. Projects completed during my term of office included theater upgrades, and buildings for performing arts, industrial technology, student services center, public safety complex and technology upgrades. -Assisted in the implementation of the state Student Success Initiative.-Oversaw the creation of the Vision for Success initiatives that provided funding for vision care for students at the college and facilitated donations of medical supplies to the health center. -Oversaw the creation of our voter registration program-Co-authored new bylaws for the student government

-Supported and advocated for the inclusion of youth with disabilities in southern Santa Barbara County. -Developed and initiated voter information and registration resources for persons with disabilities-Recruited, screened and nominated youth for the California Youth Leadership Forum for Students with Disabilities -Collaborated with the Santa Barbara County Education Office on projects and policies for students with disabilities.
