I led the Risk, Compliance and Assurance teams across the Vodafone UK and Ireland Technology organisations, comprising a team of 20+ FTE’s with a broad range of skills and experience, from apprentices and graduates through to individuals recognised as leaders in their field.I defined, implemented and operated Vodafone’s risk management activities across the Technology organisation of 3,000+ staff. This was achieved through partnering with Technology Leaders to ensure that timely, risk informed business decisions were made and providing subject matter expertise on large and complex risks.I was responsible for maintaining a number of business critical certifications and regulatory requirements, including ISO 27001, CAS(T), PSN and SOX-404. In mid-2014, I successfully took Vodafone through the Cyber Essentials Plus certification, with Vodafone being the first multi-national and first telecoms provider to be awarded this UK Government cyber certification.Vodafone is one of the world's leading mobile communications providers, operating in 26 countries and in partnership with networks in over 55 more. I served on ISACA’s Strategic Advisory Council.The Council monitors technology, competition, and other relevant internal and external matters. It advises, develops, and revises strategy on behalf of the Board of Directors and monitors its implementation. It advises the Board of Directors on matters affecting strategy. It includes recommendations for areas for professional growth in developing nations and strengthening best practices globally.

I served on ISACA’s Knowledge Board as Chair.The Board oversees the portfolio of ISACA knowledge to ensure the correct focus, delivery approach, frequency and positioning based on the ISACA strategy and approved knowledge architecture.It provides guidance concerning the ISACA strategy and ensures that ISACA knowledge needs are met through an annual review of the research and knowledge product portfolio. The Board is the governing body of the association. The Board applies business judgment in the best interests of the association on behalf of its members; has responsibility for governance, control and oversight, as well as participation in the preparation and approval of the strategic plan; and provides direction, advice and counsel to senior management.

I served on ISACA’s Ethics and Appeals Committee.The committee is responsible for reviewing and determining a course of action for violations of the ISACA Code of Professional Ethics, and for hearing appeals related to issues of ethics.
